Cruise control problems

I have a 1985 Ford F-250 6.9 IDI four-speed manual transmission .I love this truck it is amazing I will never get rid of it but since it’s a four-speed it’s very difficult sometimes to drive it on the freeway and just cruise it has cruise control but it does not work is there anyone who can give me some information on what to do and how to troubleshoot and fix the cruise control system

Does the horn work? I think I recall from my '86 that the cruise and the horn share a relay, tucked up under the dash about midway across.

Failing that, I think I have a cruise diagnostic on my computer at home. I'm not at home, though, for the rest of the weekend. If you don't have an answer by sometime Monday I'd be happy to check that I have the diagnostic, and send it to you.
