Been thinking of options for exhaust the past couple of days and I know I want to do the 3" down pipe for sure, but i've been thinking about just turning up into the bed with a single 4" or 5" stack. Did it on my old truck which was N/A and regretted it because it was way too loud.
My current truck is factory turbo so that should muffle the exhaust sound a bit, correct?
My second question is where would one purchase the chrome louvered heatshielding that would fit around a 4 or 5 inch stack? The reason I ask is that if I do a stack on this truck, I don't want me or anyone else burning their hands on the pipe(it does get hot). I had numerous plastic sacks melt onto the stack in my old truck from blowing around in the bed and it sucked smelling burning plastic..........
I've looked online, but couldn't find anything specific. Maybe i'm not searching using the right terminoligy as I don't know what the technical name for that heatshield would be called.
I know practically every big rig and dump has a shield around the stack, but where do they get them? And are they available in 4 or 5 inch diameters?
