I've got a '94 IDI that I turboed about 4 yrs ago. I'm getting a lot of crankcase pressure and the engine is pushing oil out the dipstick tube where it comes out of the block as well as oil coming out of the discharge side o the turbo. Any suggestions as to where to start?

cdr takes your crank pressure and routes it into the engine so it can be burned up a lil and pushed out the exhaust a rdt is a lazy way of getting rid of the crank pressure...your cdr when your engine was n/a was right behind the intake znd since your turbo it had to have moved somewhere? of it is clogged or your tube is pimched you will have the symptoms you are seeing

CDR = Crankcase Depression Regulator. Looks like this.

RDT is a hose in place of the CDR that goes into the exhaust or just open to the road. Search for this.

If the diaphram in the CDR is damaged or very dirty (oil sludge) it won't operate right. Can be cleaned using diesel fuel, pour some in it and shake it around, after it's removed.

LOL! A RDT is one of the only ways to treat the CC breathing when you add a turbo/

Nasty way to do it. If it's not installed correctly into the exhaust, it won't work right. Besides it requires a large hose, about an inch ID, then if you have a lot of blowby, all that oil makes it smoke. An open RDT leaves oil under the frame and oil trail down the road and in your driveway. My .02.

just go to autozone...get one of the cheap chrome push in breathers with an end attachment for a hose...open it up a lil and pull ALL the foam out of it then repack it with stainless steel wool....no oil in your turbo and no smell and hassle of an rdt!

Hopefully none of the steel wool flakes off tiny wire fibers!
