I wonder if its a 250 305 325.. if its '03 it would be a 250 or 305 right?

the 600 series is the 2004.5 325hp. the 305hp is the HO pre-new fangled smog stuff in the 600/610.. i would prefer a 305 but its not a 600 series. 600 series are 325hp. i don't think there is a 305hp/600 series.

SO 250 HP 235 for calif '03
HO 305 HP '03 '04
600 325 HP 600 tq. 3rd injector..etc. '04.5
610 325 HP 610 tq. '05

Just paid for it, a branny new 0 miles, complete from oil pan to cpu crate motor from cummins. this guy in mt is real informative and has great prices. I had to buy a ps pump and alternator out the door after taxes $6500 The cheapest long block gen 2 was 6900 from jasper engines. How did I do? I will have pics for transplant starting in about a week when I get my truck here. oh yea and it is the 305/550 engine. he said that the 05 and 06 engines are harder because of the egr smog bs.

Does anyone know why all these crate engines exist? I'm guessing that they were purchased by truck manufactures and were extras... but not really sure. That motor sure looks nice.. I wouldn't mind having an extra.. just in case. Is there a warranty and how is it verified?

Ya I hate the whole deal also, but as the days go by all I can think about is having a new mill and not the cost..... till the significant other reminds me anyway I can't think about the past. One thing for sure, I have alot more upgrade choices......

no, now you have injector probs....lol
we jb welded one for a guy a while back, he didnt want to drop in a motor, so far so good, has been runnin like that for about 6 months now.
we also know a guy the stick welds cast blocks, we ficked a cracked chevy block once.
