I have a friend who owns a Duramax 4500 truck. It has 35,000 miles on it and the fuel lines to the high pressure pump have broken. Is this a common problem or what is the cause. I don't really know much more because she doesn't know much more than this. I drove this truck from Ca to Tulsa and back. I felt the motor had injector problems on the passenger side bank because of the ticking noise. It only happend under lite throttle and completely went away if I used full throttle. I was pulling a fully loaded 8 horse trailer.

the 4500 that I maintain at work has not had any cracked fuel lines. Which is to say the only thing that has not cracked are the fuel lines, heads twice, head gaskets, 2 sets of injectors, 1 cp3, numerous other issues, but the allison has never been apart. seems like a totally different animal than the 2500 of the same year that hasn't had any issues
