ok so ive been chasing problems in my 88 for a couple days now and im stuck on 2. first im trying to figure out why the engine light would be on at all times while its running and would like some ideas on what would cause that. ok now for the second problem i thought my alt was bad but it tested good when i took it in today. so i replaced the voltage regulator and it still doesnt seem to be charging is there a fusible link i should look for or any other suggestions
thanks in advance for the help.

On the alternator, take a meter or testlight and see if you have voltage on the large battery wire on back of the alternator with the truck off. If you don't, then yes you do have a fusible link burned out.

Do your oil pressure and water temp guages work? If they are disconnected, then some of their old wiring may be your engine light problem.
