On my 93 IDI I found one open dc resistance glow plug - rest were 3-5 ohms. This has a new gp controller and I can hear it cycle, but in 10 degree weather after sitting only for 4-8 hours, I almost killed my 2 new batteries trying to start this thing. What do you guys think?? Could the other glow plugs be reading 3-5 ohms and still be "bad" in some way?? PS have been trying to find OE Beru plugs -- ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to find!! Contacted BERU HQ here in Morton Grove, IL 10 miles from me, and she said there is maybe somebody in Canada or Washington who can get them for me -- something about a holiday in Germany or something?? Communication barrier. Anyone know where I can buy these things in Chicago area?? Midwest Diesel is close, but no cigar. Stocks other brand NOT BERU. --Thanks Andy PPS If I buy Motocraft plugs from the Ford Dealer, are these the good BERU units?? Parts guy couldn't tell me because he didn't have them in stock and wanted $ ahead of time before ordering...

in short...yes it will cause a hard start. it makes all the other plugs not stay on for as long as they should. all plugs should ohm at 1.5 or less. yes the ford ones are the same.
