Confused about which one I need for my 93 factory turbo 7.3. I assume its the f107, and not the f111 since it seems to be for powerstrokes, whats the f101 fit? The parts bin says for "other diesels"..............

Or better yet, what size is our drain plug? 12x1.75 or 14x1.25?

If you just have to have one of those things, he'd be a good guy to get one from, although I've just never been comfortable with that external lever design on those things. If there's a possible way to screw something up by snagging it on a stick , I'd be the one to do it and those things just look too darn easy to trip with the kind of places I go. I wound up putting one of those Aeroquip Quick Drain setups on mine. It has a double redundant safety on it making it impossible for an accidental drain off unless you manage to land on the friggen thing hard enough to break it off

Rob, would you by any chance happen to remember the part # for the Aeroquip drain you used on your truck?
No, I just took my old plug by the local parts store to match up the threads to figure out what size I had and ordered one up from there

Awesome. f-101 is what I needed- 1/2x20 is the size. Ordered it from qwikdrainvalve.com. To whom it may concern though, the parts bin listing for it is confusing............upon first glance it would appear that a f-107 is required, but in reality its the f-101 for "other diesels".

Just watch you don't over tighten it. I split the gasket on mine by doing so.
It started dripping a few weeks after I installed it. I could see it was leaking around the gasket so I tried snugging it up a bit but it ended up splitting the gasket. The gasket seemed to hard from the start though so I was not surprised. Made me mad though having to drain the oil and put the regular plug back in.

You will absolutely learn to love that FUMOTO valve.
I have them on every truck on the place.
I have never had any negative issues with them.
My only concern would be if some knuckle-head other than myself were to have reason to change the oil, they might destroy the valve out of ignorance.
So long as I have say in the matter, no one but me will ever be under there anyway.
It is nigh impossible for a FUMOTO to open accidentally; you are far more likely to lose the factory plug or strip it out.
Our shop is at the intersection of several highways and it is absolutely scary the amount of oil drain-plugs that I find when going to the mail-box.
Big ones, little ones, new-looking ones, and rounded-off beat-up old ones, I find one almost every day.
I don't know what happens to the losers of these plugs, but I would assume that most of their stories don't have happy endings.
As for bullet-proofing a FUMOTO, some FUMOTO dealers offer a "Corbin"-clamp that snaps in the groove, once the handle is latched, and prevents the handle coming out of it's resting place until the Corbin-clamp is first removed.
Myself, I buy the one that has a 3/8 hose-nipple.
I plug a very short piece of 3/8 fuel-hose by clamping a very short 3/8 bolt in the hose, then I clamp this hose onto the nipple.
I do this, not because I don't trust the FUMOTO, but because I want to make it as tamper-proof as possible from would be sabateurs.
