tough question....id say yes especially if there is wear damage already on the pin from the pedal assembly that goes in the bushing that goes in the eyelet from the cylinder. any damage to that pin is going to wear the bushing down very quickly and require the mod anyway. half the work with the mod is getting the cylinder eyelet modified due to space constraints, if you could do that before it is even installed it will take no time at all. rod end bearing (heim joint) can be found at OSH hardware, as can the grade 8 bolts, washers, and locknut. make sure you take geometry measurement of current system so everything lines up when mod installed.
