clutch alignment tool?

im going to be puttin my flywheel and clutch back on after getting the new rear main seal on.... but i dont have clutch alignment tool????? do i need one....will it make a difference? thanks for your input

Tis best to have one but it can be done without.
What I've done in the past is to get the clutch disc and pressure plate all set up in there and have all of the bolts started into the flywheel just to the point that they are holding everything in place. From there you can adjust the clutch disc so that it is evenly alligned with the pressure plate and then you can tighten the bolts down.

i have done the same as dog catcher with and without the aligment tool. with the tool is much easier though.

The tools is plastic and they only get a couple of bucks for the thing

I tried to find the plastic tool with no luck, I ended up getting a steel ZF input shaft that was cut off a wasted tranny....A real keeper..LOL
