Hmmm.. I learned something new today! My F350 also does not have markers... but I doubt it saw any regular towing jobs either... Natural Resources had it up in Nunavut with a pintle hitch on the front end, and only a bumper ball on the back and put under 54k KM on it. I wish it had an hour meter on it though.

^^^^ Too bad the PCM doesn't keep an accumulator for engine run time. When you divide the programming cost across however many thousands of trucks, it would've cost 'em next to nothing per truck to do it. Oh well....

Yep. They do have it in newer trucks though. I wanna say starting in 03 for ford's.

^^^^ Yeah, but I'll bet in the newer trucks, that data is being wi-fi-ed directly to the NSA and your insurance company.....

I've heard stories of trucks not being under warranty because of "too much idle time."
It was an emergency vehicle.

Well I got the new lights today. I was surprised that the are MADE IN THE UNITED STATES! Imagine that. I haven't removed mine yet so I don't know if the are exactly the same. Wont get to them tomorrow with the weather coming in. I hope I can use the ford sockets and just replace the lens. I won't be using the supplied screws. I will use original ford screws as they have not rusted, they look as if they are stainless. But you get lenses with gaskets, sockets with pigtails, screws, and a ground screw for $5. Not bad.

They are in the first pic. They are self tappers, fine thread,better for thicker iron, and they are goldish in color. I think ,although I haven't removed mine, they should be sheet metal screws and I would use stainless.

self tappers have a drill bit like head, these screws are the type i call starter threads, they taper down a bit with cuts on the tip.

i went to ACE and purchased bigger stainless steel screws.

if anyone needs these pig tails, my stock ones were in good shape.
i didnt use the ones that came with the kit.
only thing that coulda made this kit better is if they had the OEM connector on the light socket.

About the screws, yes, but they will make there own theads, they just won't drill a hole like the drill bit looking type you talked about, which I call self drilling screws.
As far as the made in USA if you can doubt it, but I was quoting what it said on the bag. Look at second picture.

You can. There's no difference between these lights and the factory Ford ones, at least I haven't found any. Do yourself a favor and do not install the gaskets dry. Way I do them is use RTV between the gasket and the cab roof, and grease between the gasket and the light. This prevents any rain water from even getting a chance to leak inside, and when you need to replace the bulb you can do so without any trouble - the light lifts off the gasket, the gasket remains glues to the roof.
