Check valve in return line??

i was thinking, on my scout tank the return just t's with a breather hose for the tank, there's no check valve, on the 250 return line i remember there was a little rubber piece to hold back the fuel. should i put a check valve on the retune line, or will it be ok?

It will be fine without it.

The '90 that I parted out had duckbill valves on the return line tubes on the senders in the tanks. I don't have anything on the Chevy return lines and it's been working just fine.
