My intake for a long time has had a bit of oil residue in it but i never really gave it much thought as everyone usually says the CDRs last forever. However, I was down working on the exhaust lately, actually the oil cooler, but had to disconnect the exhaust pipe, and when I did that, i saw lots of oil streaking down the exhaust pipe. Seemed like a bit more than should be there to me. So, anyway, I had pretty well stopped ALL my leaks after the oil cooler was repaired. So I decided to just buy a new CDR and hopefully stop some of that oil getting into the intake. So I did that and next thing I know I got a good amount of oil coming out of the inspection cover. I haven't pulled it yet to inspect further but the top of the engine is dry, no return cap is leaking, don't see any oil near the CDR.

So is my new CDR creating too much back pressure now or something and causing my rear main seal to leak? Was the thing always about to leak and just hadn't because the old CDR was letting everything through?

Damnit, just can't win with this thing. It's like chasing your tail around trying to stop leaks.

So.... my oil out of the inspection cover seems to be growing and my oil out of the exhaust seems to be increasing quite a bit aswell. The exhaust is not blue or white or anything, just normal black looking as far as I can tell, smells normal too. However, I don't see how with these pictures... I just installed a new flex joint in my exhaust and it's pretty well coated on the inside.

What is causing this? How is my CDR causing excessive back pressure causing my main to leak and letting a ton of oil by? ***....

I pulled the inspection cover and it sure seems like it's either the oil pan or the rear main leaking. I checked the oil, as I changed it recently, and if anything, it's a little low, not over filled.
