I have a 92 with the 7.3 IDI. Alternator has the internal volt regulator. I changed the alternator because I thought when it started to quit charging it was shot. Put in a new Carquest Auto Parts one and a week later started doing it again. I just put a new plug on the 3 wires that go into the top of the alternator. Still getting off and on charging. When I unplug and plug back in the top one, it starts charging again. 10 miles down the road it will start the charge no charge again. Is this a ground issue maybe? Which ground places do I check or can I bypass all that and install a new ground from the alternator shell to the cab and one to the frame? PLEASE HELP! THIS IS ******* ME OFF
