cannot fuel

Hell 96 7.3 can't fuel the tank some type of air lock acts as if it is full. but is not, undone the vent on top of tank fuel comes out there....... Any answers appreciated. cause running engine with drain valve on bowl open. accident. starts and runs fine know that it is close to running out of fuel. What do i do take off pickup on top of tank and replace?

Not sure I understand what you're saying.
Try to clarify.
The sender has a ring that you spin off. Usually requires a screwdriver/chisel and hammer.
Not sure why you would run the engine with the filter drain open, that will just let it suck air.
If your filler necks don't look like this, you need to upgrade to these.

filler neck does not look like pic. i forgot to close the valve. I know it is not full the tank. just has a hose within a hose. can you get upgraded filler neck at napa

You'll have to get it from a salvage or parts truck.
But I believe AL aka @riotwarrior had a fix where he built his own.

Search "fast fill" on some of the other forum sites.

As a temporary measure, try driving the LR wheel up on a 4x4" block when you get to the pump.
