Will a 1997 cam pos sensor fit in a 1995? if so why the diff part numbers

Yes, it will fit BUT, the connectors on the 97's were made of a different material. There is a possibility of dissimilar metalurgy reacting with each other and getting some corrosion in the connector. I currently am running a 97 CPS in my 95. Use dielectric grease to retard the chances of electrolisis from occuring.
