There is no AOD that will bolt up to a diesel.

Maybe you are thinking of the E4OD?

Sorry, typo on my part. I was brain dead yesterday. I'm working on AOD for my mustang and that's what was stuck in my head.
So what I was after is this'
Between the C6 and the E4OD for our trucks, is one wider than the other?

If anything the E4OD would be larger because of the extra gear. The E4OD is based on the C6 design.

yea the E4OD is a beast compared to the C6.....

The E4OD is wider, longer and taller than the older C6. Even the torque converter is bigger.

Internally they are very similar as far as 1st 2nd and 3rd gear are concerned. Some of the hard parts are also back wards compatable with the C6.

The hard parts are why the Gen 1 L owners get them put into the e4od's....
