Someone save me some reading, will direct injection head bolt to a 6.9 block?

...... in stock setting it can deliver 40hp per cylinder, simple math telling us that with a motor opened up and flowing and turboed, you can get 320hp at the crank with stock adjustments. That can only make me think that a tweaked pump can do a ton more, that means a Moose pump that can deliver 30% more fuel could power 426hp roughly.

No offense, but that is NOT the case. Not even close. Try cutting those HP number in HALF. That info. certainly does not pertain to the DB2 found on Ford IDI's.

And as far as the pistons go. They don't suck and they are not a big point of failure. They ARE oil cooled, and the only IDI I've ever heard of (other than the "Hypermax" 1200HP version) over 500 HP was Ken's. He didn't have piston failures, but he did blow the crank out of the bottom of the block despite studding the mains.

We all like the idea someone building this super IDI. But, like many others have posted here. We go through this same basic thread every one or two months................ but it never goes any further than dreaming. I hope you do it, but history has not been kind these type of plans. I wish someone would actually do it....... maybe you are the one. Time will tell.;Sweet

ahhh the old forum verbatim scenario. no offense takin'. let me state it better, with "stock internals" and the available tuning of those stock internals you can produce 40bhp per cylinder. I was not infering that adding more air to a stock idi with stock set DB2 was gonna make 320hp.

Stock DB2 is capable of 25hp/ cylinder. I remember someone bench tested one and max fuel output was like 70-75cc/1000 strokes. Stock setting is mid 60's cc/1000. Our pumps have .290" plungers, so we are kinda limited there.

the power numbers you are looking for, it might be easier to look into a different injection pump

Hypermax makes a Ppump conversion for the powerstroke I'm sure with enough green they will build one that will bolt in to an IDI. But the DB2 can put out the volume but aperantly from what mel said it cant get threw the lines or injectors.

I think the DB2 will make 400 to the wheels, if i was gonna go drop another 6k on a scheid pump and a conversion kit, i might as well be running a cummins. The whole point of this is to make the build WITH the 6.9.

Bigger lines and injectors just comes with the territory when beefing up an IP.

If I can get a good reliable setup making good power, I wouldn'y give a second thought to running in the street class at a pull. the advantage the f250 has over the rest of the trucks that would be at a pull is weight. in the dodge i could only hang 800lbs of weight before i reached the 8000lbs weight limit. with some attention paid to truck setup, the f250 could hang 2000lbs out front, that is huge!!!!!!!! even if i am coming in with less hp, ALL of it would be getting to the ground,
