Is there any prob with extending the plug to the rear of the truck? Just seems to be more practical

Hmmmmmmm..............looks like another loaded question.

I extend mine all over the place (garage, driveway, yard, street)
with a 50 foot and a 25 foot 14 gauge extension cord.

So i quess just to the back of the truck IMHO would be OK !

   ;) :D

Not such a dumb question Joe. Never have looked at block heater wiring (in terms of gauge of wire, fused, etc.) but might want to do that before extending. One would have to be really careful in running it to the back, with regard to rubbing, shorting out, etc. I have an extra 100' extension cord I will give you. As Foxy005 indicated, prolly easier. If that's the project that you want to do however, you have way to much time on your hands. Isn't there any fishing or drinking to be done at this time of the year?

No problem Joe, just size the wire for the amp draw. And you can tie the 2 together so you can hook up either end.
