hi everyone,

here we go, i change my ip pump on my rv...E350 1993with banks turbo kit, and the one i install on it have is "fipl" so, i didnt put mine on....but since them, my "OD ligt" is flashing!!! i know i will have to change the "fipl" but i dont have the time right now....but here the problem....i have to go to a competition this week-end....and i have to tow my horse trailer..9000 pound... and a lot, i mean a lot, a high grade hill... she is shifting a bit on the high rpm ...but thats pretty much about it....i have all my gear and overdrive...

do you think i can destroy my tranny??? its about 350km in total for the round trip....


does any one here have ever change tps on a 1993 E350....does i need to take a lot of stuff out??

Yeah, fix it before you go. Your transmission is in limp mode when the OD light is flashing. Long drives and or towing like that will damage the transmission.

X2 on that!!!

"Limp" mode causes your E4OD to operate with high line pressure (Over 200 psi, iirc...) and shifts up rapidly so you can 'limp' home or to a shop.

The high line pressures causes the internals to crack and blow apart... If operated too long...

Replace the FIPL, it takes only a few minutes and a few minutes more to adjust the thing... Your call...

But, don't be like this guy...

Just set the voltasge on the center wire to be between .96 and 1.2 volts and call it good. you simply can't run safely without this tps no matter what you have seen so far. The higher voltage the firmer the shift.
