Battery behavior

Have you done this with success. Seems to me the sulfate and other stuff would builup at the bottom of the battery and short out plates.

yep when it gets too bad the batteries will sometimes show 12 volts but have no amps

Yea, that's the gizmo, but there are others out there, many of which are less money. They all seem to have the same goal in mind, but some may accomplish it differently, namely in the frequency and current of the voltage spikes it produces. I haven't found a competent review of any of them yet.

Other than the radio and the hood light, there should not be any factory loads with the ignition off.
I had one battery short out between the plates and it would drop both batteries to a couple of volts over night. What happens if you disconnect the ground on one, charge them both up and then leave them over night?

Battery voltage vs charge level:
12.66V 100%
12.45V 75%
12.24V 50%
12.06V 25%
11.89V 0%

Good find mel thats what i do is over charge them, I give them 200 amps for about 20-30 min and there good to go most of the time.
