Anyone know where to get a 7.3 idi exhaust manifold

I have a 1990 f250 7.3 idi non turbo that I tryed putting a egt gauge in but it won't thread so I need a new one

Why not plug it and redrill?

It's suppose to be the right tap 1/8NPT but it won't start in the manifold

What's happening for the tap to not start? Is the hole too small? That's easy, just use a larger drill bit to make a slightly larger hole. Is the hole too big? I'd recommend drilling a little larger yet and tapping to 1/4"NPT. Then install a 1/4" male to1/8" female adapter. Unless someone else can see an issue with that.

For the 1/8 though did you use a 21/64 still bit or a type R? Type R is recommended but for me it was too small and that's when I used the 21/64 to make it just a little bit wider before I tapped it.

Are you sure you got an npt probe? Some of the eBay probes are metric. You can always jump up to 1/4 npt and just get a different compression fitting. Manifolds were available new from rock auto.

Yep the gauge is from glow shift and the tap won't start no matter hard I push it's like the whole is big enough. Yes I did use the 21/64 drill bit. Should I drill larger?

I think you should do a test drill in a piece of aluminum and see if you can run the tap into that hole. That will tell you all is well with the tap and drill. If this is your first time tapping a pipe thread hole make sure you do not run the tap all the way into the hole untill the threads on the tap are in the hole. Doing that will make the threaded hole too large for the probe to screw in and seal. ALL PIPE THREADS ARE TAPERED... Unless you are doing electrical condiut pipe..then its still the same threads but it would not be tapered threads.

You are probably going to have to drive the tap pretty deep to get the probe in so I would go a hair bigger. You have to be careful though and not drive the tap too deep or it won't seal Because the metal is so thin. You only get a couple threads of engagement. Go slow.

Will do I have some aluminum laying around in the shop. I also have a question on the fuel filter housing. The fuel broke and I want to plug it off do you know the size of plug I would need for that?

Am not sure but I believe its a 1/2 inch pipe plug but please wait for others to confirm.

The what broke? I'm assuming you mean fuel HEATER?

Yes it broke it looked at brittle and when I pulled the plug off the top it broke
