What is the amp output of the stock alternator on a 1985 F-350 6.9 Diesel with A/C??

Is this alternator internal or external voltage regulator??

I think external, but am not sure.

I don't know, but I remember Mel said once they are about 80-85 amps?

That sounds about right on the output. If you look at the passenger side fender well you will see a flat square metal box about 3x3 with several wires going into it. Thats the external voltage regulator. I think it was in 92 or 93 when the alternators went internal voltage regulator type. Not sure.
