Well I thought I had this fixed but the condition has worsened to the extent that it takes multiple 20 second cranks to get 'ol gray started now.

I'm going to check the fitting at the injector, could someone please tell me how I get the hard fuel line off at the injector pump? Is there a special tool or am looking at fabricating one. Seems to me I saw a pic of a homemade one a year ago but I can't find it now. Also is there supposed to be a rubber washer on the hardline at the lift pump? I bought the rubber washer kit but they are thick and don't appear to fit between the fuel line and lift pump. thanks

You have to dig the old washer out of the cap . It fits around the metal line and the cap compresses it against the pump and the other end against the filter housing. You should be able to get that one off with an open wrench 5/8". For the other line fittings a crows foot flare nut wrench comes in real handy.

In a pinch, the rubber part can be made from a small sliver of rubber fuel line.
