how can i mod this set up? thanks heres the after on the right hope i done this right

im sure some one with a 6.9 will chime in but i believe they cut out the restrictor plate in the bottom of the first pic. then you can make up an intake pipe going down to the grill next to the drivers side of the radiator. 4" dryer vent works good.

while you have the air cleaner off take out that tuna can thing CDR vavle right behind the intake on the engine and clean it out with gas or diesel till its clean, dont blow it out with air. you should clean it every oil change.

Any junkyards near you? Visit them and look for a 7.3 IDI truck - we have the same air box, only with a larger opening at the bottom. You don't need the 7.3 lid tho, as it has that silly soup bowl air silencer on it, reuse your 6.9 lid. Between my 7.3 and my buddy's 6.9 this is just what we did - we put a 7.3 box on his truck reusing his factory lid, and we also put a 6.9 lid on my truck, reusing my factory box, we both get the largest airflow possible out of that setup.
