Just got a 93 f-250 with the international idi turbo charged. The guy i got it off of had a jimmy rigged air filter on it so i am wanting to replace it, this is my first question. Is there an particular air filter kit that works the best, been looking how people have installed them and it seems that there all different depending on the truck any suggestion would be great. Also the previous own has the valve breather pipe venting into the engine bay, correct me if i'm wrong but should that be tied back into the air filter and re burnt into the turbo. If any thing its causing the engine to be more dirty and every time i use my defrost or heater the cab fills with fumes. Any suggestion will help thanks.

The breather valve is called a cdr valve. The way you have it now is called a road draft tube. Search here there are lots of threads on the subjects. Yes it was originally tied into the air cleaner. Is yours a factory turbo? Put your truck in your signature so we can see what vehicle you era working on.

Yes it has a factory turbo, read up on road draft tubes and are just going to reroute it down by my oil filter. Here's a picture of my air filter hook up at the moment, if any one knows of a after market filter kit that would work in this situation let me know. I figure i am going to just have to find a filter kit not necessarily for that truck but one that will fit on the turbo and be at the right bend and size for my set up, any suggestion of a filter that will fit, thanks.

That's the correct spelling of Attachment 56418, would be nice if it worked tho. You have to go into ADVANCE and use Manage Attachments.
