Adding reverse lights

I have a set of 3.5 inch piaa lights that im going to mount back by the reese hitch on the truck for backup lights.. I plan to also make them come on manually for loading the trailer/boat/ect at night....

What wire is the backup wire on the trucks trailer harness... I wish I had a handy wire checker... but I have not found a reasonaly priced one......

I'm 99% sure its the black and green wire on the 7 pin plug but pls check it before you toast something. Its marked on the outside of the cap on my truck.

It's the center wire on your 7 pin. Not sure of the color - but you can pull the cover back on the rear of it and see.

Center plug is correct.

ONE more time I will try to hook up my reverse lights to the proper wire and see if they work ...
for the longest had them tied to the reverse lamp wire and they were DIM.... now they are just disconnected

one more try - wish me luck !
