Hello all. I have a quick question. Does anyone know if a one ton F350 CAB AND CHASSIS ever came with a 14,000lb GVWR? My truck, a 89 F350 cab and chassis has the Sterling rear with 2 1/4" springs and a king pin Dana 60 up front. 8 lug. On the title, it's 14,000 lbs. I have it registered as such. Reason I'm asking, a buddy of mine was wondering how I got a "5" weight class sticker ( which is 14,000+lbs) when my truck is clearly a 8 lug f350. I have seen a Super Duty F450 of the same era and I gotta say that thing is almost as stout as my 2000 International 4700. Bigger rear, slightly thicker frame, and I believe 3" springs.
Now I looked at the sticker on the door... It appears to be 11,000lbs GVRW but it's pretty darn faded so it's possible it could say 14,000. Could there have been a mess up from the day the vehicle was purchased new and it got titled wrong? I'm not concerned about it at all if it is. Hell I'm happy. I would be willing to bet 75% of all one ton dump trucks are waaaaaaay over one ton anyway. I know mine is on a regular basis haha. So, thoughts?
Thanks, OI82
