97-f250 hub conversion

I have all the parts and have done this on a buddies f250 b-4,
My question is two part : Does this save fuel, And does it cause less wear and tear ?

NO and NO as long as the autos you are taking out were disengaging

Thank you, That,s what I thought, When my buudy was following me he said he can see the axles spinning so I guess they weren't
