85 F250 6.9 NA Issues

Any ideas on how that screw should be adjusted? I dont have any gauges to check pressure.

I dont know how to adjust it. On some pumps it preloads a small spring that affects the low speed gov, some pumps dont have that spring.

I would just get it close to where it was.

It sounds to me like the injection pump is having an advance piston problem.
with the engine idling, push the plunger in, the change should be pretty drastic.

If it means anything, when its running and the shrader valve is pushed in, it sprays a good amount of fuel.

When the plunger is pushed in it makes a large difference, runs rough, blows a lot of white/blue smoke.

Don't mean to hijack, but since its on subject, what if any modifications would I need to make for a 94 IP? I know it will bolt on, but what bout wiring? I haven't really looked at it much.

Well I've never owned a U-haul pump, but others on here have, and are satisfied with them. Pehaps someone who has one can chime in. And yes, it will need to be timed once you get it installed. There should be an article in the idi tech articles section of this site, that should explain the installation procedures and such. I'll see if I can find a link.
