Ok, the truck is a 1992 f250 5 speed 176,000 miles 5 speed 4 wheel drive. custom crossover pipe 4 inch exhaust home brew intake and k&n drop in. Heres the issue,,,about 2.5 months ago it started smoking upon slight decel and massive decline in fuel economy but with the sweet info on this forum it lead me to IP/Injectors. I bought an IP from Oregon Fuel Injection and brand new delphi injectors from them as well as the return line kit and had them time it after i did the install Smoking problem solved but i have had a miss and occasional super rough idle up to about 1100 rpm ever since. The miss is all the time but the rough idle is only every once in a while and only when its warm.
So far i have added clear fuel line off the filter head and the top of the IP (no bubbles and lines stay full), cracked all the injector lines at idle and high idle and every one of them were the same result ran worse. I put a multi meter on all the GP and each one was right around 35. I tried playing with the timing either way and nothing. A friend of mine thats a retired international mechanic said he though it was the IP so i pulled it and sent it back to OFI for a retest, while I was waiting I pulled all the injectors and they all looked good and dry as well as the washers showed no sign of leaks and the new o-rings were in top shape. The pump came back with a clean bill of health and a $94 bill to pay. I put everything back together and holy smokes it idled smooth and had power at the top end i have never felt outta this old thing. It was short lived though went on about a 20 minute drive came home and shut it off ran to the store 10 minutes later and miss and rough idle was back. It always starts great hot or cold no excessive smoke at startup or any at all going down the road unless i lug it.
Sorry about the book but i wanted to give all the details i could think of.
