So here I am smack in the middle of a moral delima, I could have a free 1975 1/2 ton short bed step side Chevy 4 speed 4x4 and drop my already-in-my-hands N/A 6.2 in it, wait for an affordable turbo and call it a day, or for $1000 I could get a 1984 F250 TURBO 6.9 4x4 with a "bad IP " or perhaps something else... Reality sets in, get both? LOL the Duramax will stick around for heavy towing, and as much as I like the Allison, I'd rather shift for myself most days, only problem with the Crew cab dualie is size, I can't get up the driveway and in the gate with any more than a 16' trailer :puke: and as much as I love driving the '92 F250 5 speed, I just cant afford to pay double to feed it!

If your going to use the truck for work, the 6.9. If you going to the shops for groceries and want the MPG the 6.2

Get them both. Hop them both up. Then give me the 6.9 when you're bored.

:sly I don't get so bored, I'm making an offer on the 6.9 turbo...we'll see what happens there :dunno the Chev is coming home, light towing to 4000#, and basic tools in the bed, I always seem to need them somewhere! My trouble, I tow heavy chit regularly for 3 months out of the year, the rest of the time I have half an 8' bed of chit I haul around, and 20' long truck gets old.
