5spd to auto??

ya i know i should keep it but is there a good auto to get? i want the overdrive is it worth swapping out my clutch has 325.000 kms on it and going to need one soon i would think it starts slipping in 4th if i pin it

the 5 speed has an overdrive. just get a new clutch for it.

Right unless you really want an auto just replace your clutch and pressure plate.

The overdrive automatic behind the IDI's is the E4OD. They are rather expensive and you would also need the ECM and other electronic bits to convert.

I'm sure someone would trade you if you really wanted to do the swap.

Not to mention the ZF5 is a ton more reliable than the E40D. I love mine and wouldn't give it up unless the grass was really damn green on the other side.

As far as manual transmissions go, the ZF-5 has pretty poor reliability.

So if the ZF does go out, are there any good manual transmissions i could drop in place without too much hassle?

EDIT: by the way, which tranny is better in reliability? the ZF5 or the NV4500?
