Alright.... this is another "post for posterity"
My daughter recently bought a 2008 F250 gasser..... its to pull her camper if she decides to move or something.....anyway.... front right was seizing up, getting super hot, dragging......you know the drill.....
First observation was the caliper and pads were new.....
Opened the bleeder.... barely a trickle.....removed the banjo bolt....still a trickle.....not accustomed to modern vehicles with ABS, i pulled the other side to see how it acted, maybe these modern miracle trucks use a "new form of hydraulic" like "new math", both of which i know nothing of....nope, it acted like a regular bleeder valve....AND the caliper was old, not new like the other side.... mmmm previous owner dumped problem on my daughter.....whats his address?.....grrrrr
Alright, so.....now I followed the steel line to the ABS unit.....gotta be the gnarly expensive looking ABS unit, right?..... loosened the line there, pushed the pedal... got a fountain of brake fluid, tightened that back up.... okay..... back to the caliper..... loosened the steel line to the rubber hose, push the pedal.... good flow..... its in the rubber line!......
Okay, (sorry, no pictures. Ill take pictures when she brings it back)..... the clamp that attaches to the spindle/ or shock tower, i cant remember right now was "clamped to death"!!! I unclamped the hose, slide it back a bit, squished the rubber gently around that area and BAM, we had brake fluid flowing like normal at the bleeder......and the brake began to activate and release like normal.....
Since I had the other wheel off, I checked it and though it wasn't obstructed like the right side it was still overly squished in the clamp......and COULD become an issue. When I googled around, I saw a couple threads about trucks from this generation having the same issue (on the Diesel Stop and FTE, i believe)..BUT no resolution...... they always assumed the caliper stuck or the slides needing lube to no avail..... well I, gents, solved it and hopefully this thread pops up on others Google search......Ferd had their clamper device set too high in 2008, i guess!!!
