I beleive it was in 2oo3 that GM fixed the piston slap issue? But my 04 tahoe is taking forever to warm, and my 02 would get warm in a few miles. Kinda feels like its a diesel..... lol..... In all seriousness, with my cold front and bumper cover, my 03 diesel gets up to temp faster..... Maybe its a bad thermostat.... anyone else have experience with this>>>>>>>>>

If you have a cold front and it takes as long as a diesel to warm up, go get a new thermostat. I bought a brand new one for the old truck and it went bad the first week I had the thing. My guess you got a bad part.
