1994 f350 7.3 idi turbo??

I paid 4500 for mine, and drove to PA to pick it up.

I live in the north, but my truck came from the west coast, NO RUST. Im happy with my truck, and the price i paid.

My buddy paid the same price and got a rusty powerstroke, we both tow and get our jeeps where we need to go, i just look better getting there

You're like my clone.... I am also new to the forums (hello everyone), fairly new to diesels, and have a 94 F350 factory turbo with a 5 speed and roughly 240K.

Check for oil in the coolant and see if the radiator or overflow bubbles when it's running, also check for the blank stare you will get when you ask the owner if he used sca's.

how much did you pay for yours? sound almost identical to the one I am looking at. Its silver 4door. The guy is asking $5000 and has a 8' plow. It currently has a really nice steel flatbed in back with a goosneck hitch, bit I probably would change to a regular bed and sell the steel flatbed. is yours running good? anything else I should look for? Actuall I do not know what sca's is. Is it the additive for the antifreeze to prevent cavitation?

I paid $3800 for mine. It is a Red regular cab and I fixed all the rust and put a new bed on the back. Then mounted my western plow on it. SCA's are the cavitation additive, stands for supplimental coolant additive. Mine ran great but recently something went as the overflow bottle looked like it was boiling and I was slowly losing coolant... It still ran great even then. I currently have it disassembled and found completely worn out bearings, 30 over pistons, a sleeve on #8 and some deep pits on #7, along with several cracks in both heads...... still ran great! We will see how good my skills are if/when I ever get it back together.

Seems like with these engines you jut need to look for oil in coolant and vise versa, a bubbling radiator, and how the exhaust looks/smells.... If all that checks out ok then it probably isn't in too bad of shape..... That is just my experience though and just about everyone else on here would know better than me.

I have it on e-bay currently and I don't know what there policy is in regards to selling it by other means. All the specs are on e-bay along with pics. Mine is the Teal color one that is lifted. The current price is above the reserve which is 3,650 but that could go up any time.

Mine has some MODS, but it needs some tuning since I just installed injectors and had the injection pump rebuilt. The timing is higher than it was and I might lower it and I still need to adjust the waste gate and other stuff. It runs good, I just need to install a new boost gauge since you have to tap it to make it work (been like that for a few years).

That's a nice looking truck, I'm betting that a year into a Tacoma will have you wishing for your old truck back. You can set up the eBay auction with the right to close due a private sale. EBay hammered me with fees on the last vehicle I sold, really put a bad taste in my mouth. I'd definitely consider flying to Texas and driving your truck home if I didn't already have one. Good luck selling and good luck to the origional poster on buying.

I'm not positive on the blowby thing, watch out for the fan if you do check it like that. Using a manometer is the only real way to check blowby. These engines have oil jets to cool the pistons down and those create a lot of oil mist; plus they also have a cdr valve which lets pressure back into the intake. With the turbo look for oil leaks and if you can remove the air intake and check for play at the turbo impeller. There should be no end play and minimal side to side play, it should not be able to contact the housing. I just replaced my turbo and ebay has just the center portion with the impellers for like $230, then just switch out the other parts from the old one. Most external things are easy fixes. Mine always starts even on the coldest winter mornings here, never plugged it in yet.
