91 7.3 w/"factory" ATS - 2nd owner ... 165k miles and transmission started to slip (had been used as a heavy towing vehicle previously) so went w/overhaul. ~1k post-overhaul and it started stalling in R and D ... back to transmission shop and they found new torque converter was bad ... replaced. Drove another ~ 1k and started stalling again in R ... the rig is back in the TRANS shop now w/likely a new TorConv required (guessing). Any thoughts here on E4OD TorConv ideas to upgrade and/or avoid this? Maybe I'm wrongly assuming E4OD was a bullet-proof tranny? Any thoughts would be appreciated.
