1990 f-350 crew cab. 4X4 duals

Dsblack, I notice in your sig. the 1990 f-350 crew cab. 4X4 duals Is yours factory or conversion?
I havn't seen many factory setups. Actually, only ones I've seen is conversions.
I keep looking & thinking about converting or something. Then I weigh cost & trouble & that usually cools my jets.
I been told that there wasn't any F350 CC Dually 4x4's built for few years....'88-93 or so.
Then I hear that "yes, a few"
Then I hear some was built in Canada.....
(probably everybody but me has one sitting in their garage for years)
Other day somebody posted that Evilbay link of that F350 CC dually with utility box in Yuma....government rig I think & looked like it might have been factory setup.

Anybody else got any thoughts???

If I'm not mistaken, weren't all duallies up to the SD's done somewhere else other than the factory. Maybe it was somewhere in the mid 90's, but I know early on they left the factory as a SRW, then went to an upfitter for dually conversion enroute to dealerships. If someone has a dually buildsheet, that may tell. If I recall correctly, the windowsticker would list it as an upgrade option. Whereas now, when you got to the Ford website to build a vehicle, I believe you select the dually with your cab of choice as the base vehicle and go from there. I could be wrong.

The crew cab dually 4x4's are aftermarket conversion packages. Ford didn't offer that particular option until the late 90's (can't quite remeber if'n 97 or later)
IIRC you could get a dually for every other option except the C/C 4x4's.

Centurion and Centurios are the 2 main conversion companies that took these monsters one step further......Hence the 6 lane highway to do a u-turn.
ArrowCraft also makes some pretty sweet conversion kits as well.

As I found with Goldie, she was a SRW C/C 4x4 converted dually for a work truck of some sort.
SRW brakes hardware and dually adapters.

Granted this is the "used" sticker for my truck, but it states DRW. IIRC, chassis cabs were the only factory 4WD / DRW setup.

ttman4 Mine is a conversion kit. I do not know why so many are against them. I thought about going back to SRW. But the extra wheels sure make it nice when towing. it is so stable. Also helping with the weight to some extent.
the adapters bolt right on and unless doing hub work you do not even notice them.

I do not believe that FORD made any dually trucks in the early 90's. and finding one that was a true conversion and not adapters is going to be tough. Convert it and go on is what I recommend.
I replaced my front adapters recently with new ones from Fred Goske for those who remember him.
It is an easy thing to do.

You're exactly right on this, I can't comment on the 90,s models other than to say my understanding is that they were conversions.
