I've got the chance to buy at auction a choice of 10 different 5.9's their thought to bring between $300 to $1000 for weak runners what do you think mechanical auto od allison or a 5-6 speed with an sae bell i'm going to look this weekend. I plan on a rebuild anyhow so the weak runner part doesn't bother me to much.

For easy of upgrades (more power) I would go for the 12v but if you want to have electronic controls then 24v would be it....

There's been a bit of 5.9 talk around here lately in the IDI forum, which is interesting and all, but the Cummins forums are just down the hall a ways...;Poke

Buy all the 12-valves and avoid the 24s = cheap computer-controlled crap.

A replacement P-pump will easily fetch more than those engines will bring.
