I have said it before and I will say it again, when doing these types of transmission swaps, it is far wiser to buy an entire truck that has the transmission you want; thus, every EXPENSIVE piece, part, and hard-to-find particle that you will need is right there; all it needs is moving from truck B onto truck A.

Many have jumped head-and-ears into these swaps with no more than a big old used transmission laying on the floor.

More often than not, they find that the unit they have already commited themselves to is a direct-drive instead of over-drive, costing a small fortune to convert it to O-D, then a lengthy expensive search begins for a clutch mechanism that will work, and so forth and so on.

It is far cheaper, smarter, and easier to have a complete truck to rob these parts from.
