06 6.0 not starting

My buddies 06 6.0 was started and revved up to 3800 4000 rpms then shut off and won't start. It gets diesel to the fuel filter on the engine but only cranks and won't start any ideas?

Scan it to see what the computer thinks is wrong. Could be anything but my guess would start with the FICM.

are you saying when it started it revved itself up to said rpm and he shut it off and wouldn't start back up or it hit said rpm shut off on its own then wouldn't strart back up
