Superchips is okay. You are limited to about +80rwhp with a stock trans (I've heard up to +100rwhp). Airbox is fine the way it is, cat backs give little performance enhancement but some EGT reduction though. Predator, Hypertech and Superchips are all in the same league, noticably better...- Diesel Warrior

I got an email that an upgrade was available, I set my truck back to stock and updated. I reinstalled the Performance level in the truck, I was running tow/perf because it shifted like crap. Straight Pipe +/- MPG
My buddy has an 01 CTD and just straight piped his, he lost a little less than 1 mpg on average. He's 67 and does not have anything resembling a heavy foot.- Diesel Warrior

I also felt exactly like you. I couldn't find a late 7.3 that I liked and ended up with the Duramax. I think you will be happy with either, sorry for your loss and happy hunting.- Diesel Warrior

Low mpg, little help
Thanks, nice to be here. He has just under 110k on it, it's a Crew Cab dually w/4.10s and maintenance has been sufficient (I'm new to diesels, not trucks). I did some seaches and came up empty. I'm new but have been lurking for quite a while. My buddy has a '99 7.3 Dually CC w/Alum dump body, 4.10s 4x4, regular maintenance up to date.
