Banks sidewinder turbo kit for manual transmission... in an auto truck?

I would much rather purchase a used kit truth be known, but there are zero point zero out there for sale here lately. However, all the ones I've seen previously on CL and eBay top out at less than half of the lower end of a new banks kit, and some have been sold for mid three figures. Not sure...

Banks sidewinder turbo kit for manual transmission... in an auto truck?

Sounds like a nice setup, please do let me know if and when you decide to pull the trigger on selling. No worries on hijacking the thread. I'd be lying if I said I didn't want someone to come forward with a kit they were looking to sell.

Banks sidewinder turbo kit for manual transmission... in an auto truck?

I'm not trying to set any records necessarily, so I consider a good used kit a great option. I was honestly hoping for an 093, but I'll research the 088 a bit more. Consider me interested.

Banks sidewinder turbo kit for manual transmission... in an auto truck?

There's really nothing wrong with my exhaust, it's stock. I woudn't say no to a new one though. I like the thought of everything coming new out of the box ready to bolt on. I also like the idea of paying much less for a take off factory (or similar) ATS unit, perhaps with a wicked wheel (need...

Banks sidewinder turbo kit for manual transmission... in an auto truck?

Thanks for the prompt responses. I wasn't aware of the transmission module included with the turbo kit. If it's not critical, I consider that a good thing. I did do a full installation of the Tugger kit while I was repairing my transmission. Interested in hearing more about the up and down...

Banks sidewinder turbo kit for manual transmission... in an auto truck?

Hello, Been doing some informal shopping for turbo kits. All three Banks Sidewinder kits can be found on Amazon within wildly varying price ranges. One can be had new for $2500... for a manual transmission truck. I have E4OD. Can anyone comment on what I'm missing out on, or perhaps...

    88 f250 7.3 idi really hard start

This. The other night, I forgot my tank level was near 1/4, and after making a left turn, my truck took off and then starting running rough. I then remembered I needed to switch the tank selector valve to the full rear tank. I did have some hard starting recently, and found my fuel heater was...

    Occasional stalling and hard starts

Another update. From last weekend actually (still haven't done the duralift conversion). After a bit of cranking, it started up and ran fine. I figured it has to be air intrusion. This morning, I smelled a bit of diesel on my way into work. I popped the hood when I arrived, and found fuel...

    Occasional stalling and hard starts

The rear tank is full, the front tank is at 3/4. I haven't had it run out on me, but I became one with the '1/4 tank means empty' one day when I made a turn and it started sputtering quite loudly. The previous owner said something about the gauge doesn't work around 1/4.

    Occasional stalling and hard starts

Just did a couple cycles of cranking, nothing is coming out of the schraeder valve. Looks like it's full speed ahead on the duralift conversion! I found my relay holder amongst my spares, and my weather pack connectors came in the other day. All I need now are fittings, a bracket, and the block...

    Occasional stalling and hard starts

Time for an update. Truck won't start now. Had to leave for work, took another car. Made a 200 mile weekend run just fine. Got in this morning to drive to work, almost ran but decided instead to make some unusual clattering noises, now it just turns over with no inclination of running...

    Occasional stalling and hard starts

Not sure how many miles are on pump and injectors. I'm going to assume well over 100k, I understand that is their expected service life. I just made a highway run yesterday and it performed well. My fuel filter really isn't that old, but I won't rule it out as a possibility. I want to make...

    How Worried Should I Be?

I had four of each in mine until recently. Installing eight new Motorcrafts highlighted the deficiencies of my glow controller. So it got replaced with Motorcraft as well.

    Occasional stalling and hard starts

Recently I have been experiencing occasional hard starting, requiring 10-15 seconds on the starter before a reluctant, smoky startup. Most of the time it will start fine, usually 3-5 seconds on the starter, with a minimum amount of smoke. Also, occasional stalling, only after starting...

So, i got into an accident today...

I've been shopping steering boxes as well, and my research indicates Ford Ranger ones will fit. At least no later than 1997, which I assume means pre rack and pinion. I can't help but think they would be less worn out after having to turn substantially less truck. I would of course measure the...

Benefits Of A Electronic Fuel Pump?

This may have answered a lingering concern I have about switching to electric. So, the fuel pressure being generated by the electric pump won't 'deadhead' and overheat the pump, but rather any fuel above and beyond that being used (or not used) by the engine at any given point will be...

    Door Swap

The sockets for the switches should be the same. You may be able to unwrap the wiring tape so you can reroute the harness. If the wires are too short, you may be able to make one good harness out of both. Your 95 doors will have extra wiring for the courtesy lights, and power mirrors, if so...

FS: Gen 1 Banks squarebox incomplete kit missing parts.

Is there anything inherently wrong with square box kits? I ask as a casual shopper, trying decide whether or not to go the turbo route, as well as trying to figure out which way to go (088, 093, Banks, ATS, etc). I appreciate your help.

    C6 question...

The price doesn't upset me at all. Maybe throw $1000 even at him, nice body work goes a long way in my book. The other side of the transmission shift linkage actuates a rod that slides in and out of the valve body. Stuff may be bound up, or it may need a valve body. Strikes me as light...

    Lykkan's rebuild thread

Not that mine was heavily laden with BS when I brought it home, it was still fun nonetheless to strip it all off. I do hope you're planning on putting the bumper cutout surround back on though. Good deal on the truck, please keep us posted. I do enjoy build threads.

ANOTHER E4OD Thread? Rebuilt, Sat a Year, Now.....

I got burned by the melted plastic check valve in the pump. Hopefully being a transmission shop they're aware of such an issue.
