Ok. So i know you guys may be inclined to say "Don't F with it", "It will run away on you" and "You'll shoot your eye out kid" or maybe not say anything at all but I'm asking if it can be done, not that it should be done. I would like to know from someone who has had the gov apart if the spring...
Thanks for the input. Yes i have the kick down linkage on. I have it adjusted where it wont kick down until about the last 20% on the go pedal. The vacuum modulator is adjustable both at the IP and at the tranny, but i think i have it just about perfect. If i advance it any further it wants to...
So i just changed the pump on my 86 6.9. My buddy a the wrecking yard found me pump from a 94 turbo with only 98k on it from an f350. I couldn't be more happy with the results. I cannot believe the power my truck has now. However i have one complaint, It seems that the governor is set much lower...
That's pretty sad. I have a lot of specialty tools myself and have learned the hard way over the years there is a reason why some people don't have tools (let alone anything nice they can call their own) and should never be lent them. I appreciate the help this community can bring. My GP is a...
Thanks again for the info. From what i gather after asking my GP about it a local dealer here in Nampa, ID was offering the ATS kit as a dealer option. You don't get service like that any more from the steelerships. I have some time off this next week and i may just have to build myself a pop...
So i have been searching the forum and could not find a listing of the different injectors and which ones are better than others. I know from reading the BB code injectors are desirable but that's about it. I ask because i grabbed a set out of the shed my grandfather put away years ago for...
I would agree. Every time someone asks me why my truck smells like its on fire I tell them that is the smell politiions make when you screw them out of tax money.....:rotflmao
Ok so a little off topic for this thread but please redirect me if you know what thread im looking for. I have fiddled with the vacum modulator "TPS" thingy for my 85' c6, and the kickdown linkage and have got it somewhat close. I still get a VERY voilent shift sometimes if i get just the right...
I would favorite that video for sure..... Better make sure they are wearing their brown pants before they crank that up. And you forgot to mention the water/methanol injection:rotflmao
Yes, very interesting. Many of the problems with the method of injection have come to light with the numerous CNG kits that are available now. It has been argued in many forums, (i belive there are a couple of threads here too). I have no doubt that someone that knows their truck as well as most...
definatly less compression so i would think so. Dont get me wrong a turbo shortens an engines life too. If i was choosing i would go for more air over more fuel, but I'm not sure of the cost differnece between adding a turbo vs propane.
Any time you place fuel in a high compression engine before it reaches TDC you run the risk of detonation. By feeding the engine with the incoming air you have no control over when it will ignite, you are simply hoping it won’t go off until the fuel injector does. When you get the engine working...
"Propane Injection How To" thread should be named "Propane Injection, How to ruin a perfectly good eninge!" No offense to those that have sucessfully mannaged to not melt down their engine, but anyone that says it wont shorten the life of an engine when used as a power adder just hasnt blown...
If chevrolet would re-release the 54 pu and coupe in the exact same trim and antiquated technology they would sell more of them then they did in 1954. Maybe even outsell Ford for once. That is a beautiful pu, and i like that it wasnt over done. Afterall it is still a pickup.
I have had that problem with the same gp in the same place. Seemed like that one was always going out. Was bs'ing with an old timer in the parts store who diagnosded the problem as too much timing. It kept blowing that GP up, almost mushrooming the tip. It was a SOB to get out of there, but...
Thank you for the reply. That is very clear and ill know what i have as soon as i go to lunch. I say im unsure what it is because im prety sure it has been swapped. The engine that is in it is probly the cleanest IDI ive ever seen and it doesnt leak any oil (is that a first). The paint is nice...
Sounds like the same issue i have been dealing with. I have noticed with mine that after it sits for a couple of days it doesnt tick/clack untill the oil pressure gets to the top of the engine. This and some other throuble shooting is how i have determined its a lifter. i hope that is all thats...
So i have a question for all of you WMO processors. I resently assembled a WMO processing rig and i have a filtration question. I was going to post under the WMO thread but i havent seen it covered yet. I grabed an old toilet paper oil filter set up that has been kicking arround the shop forever...
