Ford Van Build? Can't find link, help please

This was a start to finish type of post and it was extremely well documented with pics - it was either a e250 or e350 build and he did all cabinet building and laminating

Ford Van Build? Can't find link, help please

For some reason, many months ago and I think it was on this forum, I saw a Ford Sportsmobile van build by a guy who built and laminated his own cabinets and it was very well documented with pics, etc. Can anyone direct me to this build, ring a bell?

    Got My DieselSite Trans Filter!

My new to me rebuilt trans is getting a DieselSite trans filter setup along with an aux trans cooler with a thermal valve so that in super hot climes it will open and keep trans nice and cool. The filter is mounted on the return line so it will pickup any debris that may be trapped in the...

Two aux Trans coolers vs Factory Trans Cooler?

Thanks, so it sounds like this type of filter setup allows for full flow and if filter becomes clogged enough, the built in bypass will allow fluid to keep traveling through the lube circuit, thanks!

Two aux Trans coolers vs Factory Trans Cooler?

I have a inline unit just installed by the indie with magnet but wanted him to swap out with a B&M unit with a spin on filter in the return line so that I can cut open to examine after five thousand miles or so - My factory cooler was flushed and not used - I am going to go ahead and use a...

Need advice specific to a '94 Ford van or Truck with 2 wheel ABS -spongy brake

Great, thats what I was looking for . . . . at, this point, Im going to keep moving forward and replace the MC as I already have a new one in the box, rear adjusters adjusted, new rear wheel cylinders, brake system bled, new abs hydraulic unit . . its got to be either the MC or the booster -

Two aux Trans coolers vs Factory Trans Cooler?

Exactly! I feel confident that as long as we do a good flush of the factory trans cooler circuit, I am not going to worry about it - I will most likely add a spin on cartridge and after five thousand miles, change it but will cut it open to examine the filter for debris . . I am guessing that I...

Need advice specific to a '94 Ford van or Truck with 2 wheel ABS -spongy brake

Yep, failed to mention I did this - had drums pulled, adjusters were not frozen but they cleaned and readjusted anyway - I was originally hoping for this scenario

Two aux Trans coolers vs Factory Trans Cooler?

No, keeping the stock filter naturally, I was talking about pulling the external filter he added and upgrading to a spin on type -thanks for your thoughts

Need advice specific to a '94 Ford van or Truck with 2 wheel ABS -spongy brake

So my indie, a qualified shop, after a thorough bleed determined that my abs hydraulic unit was at fault for slow sinking pedal. He replaced unit and it still feels the same to me. I am at a disadvantage as I do not know Ford, been working on MBdiesels for a long time. After a discussion, he did...

Two aux Trans coolers vs Factory Trans Cooler?

Old trans lost all transmission of power to wheels, no debris in pan, no catastrophioc noise, - it had 160,000 - I remain curious as it had zero movement in any gear. I think I am going to have indie pull his installed trans filter, add a quality spin on filter so I can use factory trans...

Two aux Trans coolers vs Factory Trans Cooler?

Just had my trans replaced finally and I thought I had an understanding with my indie to use the factory trans cooler plus an aux cooler after a thorough cleaning of the factory trans cooler. What he did was bypass my factory cooler and install a tiny (7x9) auxillary cooler. He explained that...

Rust converter/etch primer/catylzed paint or epoxy primer

My e350 van has rusty rain gutters, everywhere else fine. I have used POR products before and have product to use up. I think I will scrape, degrease, etch, POR putty (epoxy putty) and then seal with POR 15, then use their self etching primer so I can paint over gutters with conventional paint ...

Ford Van 2 wheel abs spongy pedal question

Also, does anyone know who provided the ABS valve in '94 for the vans? AC Delco, other? Thanks!

Ford Van 2 wheel abs spongy pedal question

yes, thanks! Generally I do all my own work but had it at the shop for the new trans swap and thought I would have the indie (with a good rep) check for air by abs bleed/brake bleed. Had it been home with me, I just would have done it . . . . the history of the van is relatively unknown so I...

Ford Van 2 wheel abs spongy pedal question

It appears that the abs hydraulic unit (2 wheel abs) is defective. I had my indie bleed abs unit and system with no success. He says the adjusters in the rear were operable but they removed, cleaned and re lubed anyway. Stay tuned - it will be nice to have full pedal pressure again -

Ford Van 2 wheel abs spongy pedal question

Hi, just curious if any forum members cleared a spongy brake pedal by bleeding abs hydraulic valve first . . . My understanding is if fluid drops too low, air gets in valve and voila, spongy pedal! I am always amazed when a pro does not test for the basics first before advising expensive work ...

    1994 E350 Spongy Brake Pedal

So far, van does not seem difficult to work on - my complaint is that the build quality seems weak compared to the '80's Mercedes diesels that I am used to working on - lots of cheap plastic components here and there that can break quite easily, low quality electrical connections, etc. . . oh well

    1994 E350 Spongy Brake Pedal

Great advice, yes, spongy brakes in my past meant air in the system and a good thorough flush/bleed. I have owned this van for about a year and it lost the trans upon returning home from AZ . . how do I know the PO did not took some messed up brake bleed procedure in his driveway? We will check...

    1994 E350 Spongy Brake Pedal

My indie who is doing the trans swap believes that my abs has issues due to the spongy brake pedal I reported. It appears on vans and trucks that the rear drum adjusters are an issue and can cause this issue. I drove this van all the way home from AZ to Northern California this way, had to pump...
