easyiest way to replace return lines ?
The best way is to remove each bank as an assembly, make the new one up on the bench and then replace. Make sure you undo all the injector lines and then move just enough to remove the 'top hats', do not bend if you can help it. Us a lube on the "O" rings ( I use some petrolium jelly ). The...- deanj

Tranny Temp and Battery question...
As for trans temp, keep it below 200. Install a plate type cooler around 20k rating. First where are you measuring the temp?- deanj

At the least you want a RV converter. Look around the summit racing site, or do a search. Basically get the best you can afford as they are a weak link if you are towing. When changing do not forget to flush out your coolers.- deanj

Belt took out tranny cooler lines!
Welcome to the club, been thier done that (the worst is that I had a new belt in the cab - to lazy to replace) You can go to your local harware store and get compression fittings (5/16 I think) with a pipe thread on the other end, then a 5/16 barb fitting (with the appropriate thread) then use...- deanj

Factory wastegate adjust and pyro probe
Sounds like the rod is screwed in to far = maxed. Go to your friendly local dealer and see if you can measure a stock one. Is the diafram ok? As for the pyro why not put it in the exhaust manifold opposite the exhaust port? This will give you the most accurate reading (unless it is a post turbo...- deanj

Do not forget to get a trans temp. Who ever is going to do the install make sure they clean out the trans lines and cooler. The set up I have on the 94, is the trans cooler (plate design 20k) and fan are mounted in the front bumper. On the supply line ( to the cooler - line nearest the bell...- deanj

If you go by diesel fundermentals MORE AIR IN - MORE EXHAUST OUT then look at the downpipe you will see that it is worth it. The stock d/pipe is 2 1/4 dia that has been run over by a fork lift - in other words really restrictive. Get the turbo outlet and 3 inch down pipe, then a 4 inch exhaust...- deanj

Do not put a reman ford trans in unless they have done all the up grades, thier are a whole bunch of them. Talk to your local trans shop, thier are bearings, cluth packs , code 62 pump kits , different bearings --- the list goes on. For the T/C get the best one you can afford (do a search) , at...- deanj

Their are several outfits that make just the down pipe, it replaceses the stock (run over by a fork lift) down pipe but you stil have the 2.25 out let. The ats huosing and 3 inch down pipe is the way to go, after that get a 4 inch exhaust (for a 94.1/2 power choke - bullydog i think still has...- deanj

Cowl induction hood for ATS turbo
Go to their web site. On one 94 I have the hypermax "cowl induction", have not had any problems untill it sat over night in the rain. My drains were plugged and the valley was half full with water - lucky I pulled the inlet tube and some water came out - cleaned out the drains, had no problems...- deanj

Have you looked at their web site? They take the air from the space between the windshield and the engine compartment. You cut a 2 x 5 hole in the firewall, screw the hypermax snorkel to the firewall and connect to your intake. you are taking the high pressure air created by the windshield. Make...- deanj

Need advice on leaking injector '94 IDI
Just done the exact same thing, not to bad a job. The hardest part was to get the old ' O' rings out. When doing the pass side remove the glow plug rely to get more room for the back 2 injectors (disconnect batt's). The kit was from DIS $27.95 + ship, but does not have the 2 'T'S and the single...- deanj

Low oil pressure reading on the factory gauge
Why are you putting in another "idiot guage" (they are called that for a reason) Use the port on the turbo oil block and put in a mechanical guage - now you know what the pressure is.- deanj

SETTING FOR TIMING AND HOW MUCH TO TURN UP FUEL?
Have the timing set 8 - 8.5 deg. DONOT turn up the fuel untill you have a pyro installed. Melted pistons can be a real pain.- deanj

Zerex coolant question (1990 f250 7.3 4x4)
What you need is a low silicate A/F mixed 50/50 with DISTILLED (or de-ionised) water then add you sca's or get A/F with sca's. Not all sca's are compatible, you will have to search. What ever way you go donot forget to test the nitride and ph levels and adjust to suit- deanj

Performance questions- 1992 with ATS Turbo
Ip and injectors could be getting old, but what have you done to the air intake? Doing a 'ram air or colw induction ' may help. Screw in the waste gate actuator another 5 turns (2 lbs of boost). Where is your pyro?- deanj

Relay warmth after parkihg light mod
If you do not want to cut into the head lite wiring, get the wiring/relay kit from summit racing. It is just a plug in harness that is allready wired. If I remember the kit was about the same price as buying relays etc.- deanj
