But it has all the power i want for now until i can get a propane injection kit for it

i see ur point so thats y i ended up using my multimeter thermal probe ports and a short piece of jumper wire to get the exhaust gas temp it might not be dead on but i its with in 5 degrees so i dont think 5 degrees will hurt much it not like its a 100 degrees off

Well it senses voltage engine water temp and oil pressure too but i was using a thermometer on the manifold while i tweaked my pyrometer to read the correct temp

    never ceases to amaze me...

i think they ride alot better when they are loaded it must be a ford thing

and i dont use continuous full power since my truck is high geared there aint no use for full power unless im taking off or pulling a heavy load

and i also played around with the range coefficient setting but like i said the temp matched my thermometer since the first pyrometer reading was off by 500 degrees

i drilled a tapped a whole in it and threaded the bung in it its a two wire thermo couple and my meter was set for the wrong style it was set for a J and mine is a K style

i have a multi function pyrometer so it does alot of differant things but aftrer tinkering with the programing it gets up to 1050 degrees WOT now

well i turned it up 2 1/2 flats and stuck it in it and it dont mess around passing anyone anymore or climbing hill so im happy

of course its all in how u drive it too

thats kinda what i thought but mine doesnt have a turbo i was wanting to find a cold air intake for it though any ideas?

    never ceases to amaze me...

hell i had an 88 ford ranger that i scraped with for 6 years and i could get 3500lbs in it try that with any little chevy pickup will u lol

okie dokie well i just got done turning up the old pump and she blows some pretty serious coal when pulling a hill and i still didnt get above 500 degrees after i moved the pyrometer to the manifold between #6 and #8 cylinder so do u think it can stand to be turned up more or does ambient temp...

also does anyone know where i might find a slightly used injection pump and injectors worth the money?

    Pyrometer Limits

so i guess thats the million dollar question then. what is the melting point of stock 7.3 non turbo pistons. and i change the oil every 5,000 miles and i use Mystic Synthetic Blend 15w-50 engine oil but like i said before that im running biodiesel cause it lubricates the fuel delivery system...

    Pyrometer Limits

ok well if it is placed in the manifold what would be the highest temp it could withstand
  19. S

    Pyrometer Limits

P.S im also running Biodiesel since it likes it alot better and its a hell of alot cheaper
  20. S

    Pyrometer Limits

well my 7.3 has no turbo and the manifold wold have to be removed so i installed it at the y junction on my exhaust and i just tried it out and i didnt get above 475 WOT on the hiway so do u think i could turn the fuel up more ?

    Pyrometer Limits

I just Installed my new aubers digital pyrometer and was just wondering if anyone new what the safest hi temp should be for a 93 model 7.3 idi

    International bellhousing pattern to sbf?

i think the ford big block 460 tranny had the same bolt pattern but differant starter mount
  23. S

    93 7.3 idi need E4OD transmission

The guy said that they use a 96 and up forward and reverse steel planets with the bigger shafts
  24. S

    93 7.3 idi need E4OD transmission

but on a further note the guy told me that the early 90's mechanical version of the E4OD tranmission are alot easier to tune up and rebuild
  25. S

    93 7.3 idi need E4OD transmission

Well he said that it comes with steel plates and steel forward and reverse planetaries along with the 4 piston valve body instead of the 2 piston oem valve body
