could this be anything but the transfer case??
I had my transfer case (BW 1356) fail in the exact same way, with downshifting on an exit ramp. The tail shaft housing where the driveshaft slides into the tcase cracked at the connection to the main body of the tcase and leaked out all my fluid. Also would there be a change in oil pressure if I'm getting fuel in there? On cold startup I show 40 psi like always and hot idle about 19-20 psi like always- loggin350

The starter actually hasn't been wet since I noticed it the first time cleaned everything surrounding the area and then drove normally for a few days it stayed bone dry and as far as I can tell there isn't any leakage at the head gasket. I know my return lines are leaking I haven't checked the whole system but I know they leak from the caps so maybe somehow it ran down the back of the block I just drove bout 10 miles with a few minutes idling at 2 stop lights and let it sit for about 15 minutes after shutdown and it looks like...- loggin350

anybody out there ever run retread tires?
I am running the treadwrights in 37x12.50 16.5, and I couldn't be happier. They are the "guard dog mt" and I have over 35k on them with another 10k left easily, over half is highway miles at 70. and have had them on my truck for almost a year and a half, on both axles. I grab empty ammo cans from work after training ops and stuff like that and use them for all kinds of storage, this is one of three different sizes of ammo can I have in/on my truck, it's a 40mm grenade can for a mk19 it's bolted to the cab and is lockable- loggin350

haha yea I used to tell myself that once I get the rust taken care of and get the other body work done I would give the old girl a nice dark green paint job... but for some odd reason I've grown fond of the rough ratty look I've got goin on for some reason it just fits the truck and myself, nice...- loggin350

yea i cut the middle from the initial bend in the front to the back with a 2 inch riser welded underneath 6 inches from the front cut to give it the shape i wanted then cut back at a slight angle to flare it out at the rear. all i added was the side sheet metal, and now i think i may add a few...- loggin350

Well I finally finished it, im very pleased with how it turned out, will have to re-paint it because it was so hot the paint dried to fast out of the can but im not worried about it, visibility is reduced to the passenger side but I dont mind, let me know what you guys think of it.- loggin350

fair enough I see where your coming from, and I have been working on it today this was my first time ever using bondo and wow did I underestimate that job what a pain that it to work with when its about 90 out it hardened faster than i could move haha. haha yea that aluminum under the hood is just my workbench, as for my air intake im not sure what I want to do yet I do want to raise whatever I choose up into the raised section of the hood though. Well I have gotten bored with my truck lately and had the urge to make something different on it, and for cheap.
