i havce been having trouble with my pyro gauge as some of you may know. well i just wanna know the best place to hook up the ignition wire. i had mine on a fuse.... is there a better place. ive tried everything else.
the thing was brand new... sealed and taped, even had the autometer stickers. the thing is i bought it off ebay... i dont know where to go from here. im gonna try some more tomorrow.

i didnt turn the pump up yet... planned on doing it soon after the gauge. mine does do that it goes to the max (1600) then back, but it sits at zero for the first 10 min of driving then goes up to around 6 or 8 hundred. and it also freaks out sometimes and goes all over the place.

on the autometer website my gauge is under FULL SWEEP ELECTRONIC... god damn it.... i bought this damn gauge cause i though it was gonna be good... and i love the look fo the NV gauges and i dont hacve the money for other gauges. Looks like im screwed again :cry:
the only other wires that come off it are the ignition wire... a ground and the wire to dim the bulb. i believe there are 2 wires that go to the probe.
could this have anything to do with me hook the wires up to the fuse block?
i put the ground right to that batterie and the gauge didnt come off 0 unless i had my foot in it for a long period of time... so i moved the probe back down about 1/2 and inch and now it stays around 400-800*. i was goin up a small hill in 5th and it was at 850 i took my eyes of it then...
i bought it off ebay. it looked brand new, still in the box with the tap on it. its an autometer NV. the needle is all over the place. ill be driving and it says 800 then ill give it a little juice and it spikes to 1600. no pictures... sorry.
i got the pyro in, didnt do the pump yet.... it says when im at 45 or 50 in 5th gear just cruisin aroun im makin 1200-2000 egts.... it just pins the needle doin 50 or 55 in 5th pullina small hill..... what did i do wrong?

yes it helps. ;Sweet im just waitin for the wxhaust to cool befor i go change it. at my local advancde it was only 140, trhough LMC truck its 300. thanks for the help, doesnt seem like its gonna be that bad.
my starter just went... last year when i changed the head gaskest i was lookin at the starter and there is a bolt that hidden. real hard to get at. any ideas on how to get it.
cant wait to spend the 300 bcucks ona remanufactured starter...:mad: every 2 days its soemthin new with this truck.
