    C6 slipping second gear

Franklin, I will be sure to look at that, I removed the kickdown linkage a long time ago because it would downshift to second at 60 if you gave it just the slightest bit of throttle to maintain speed uphill. I got worried it was going to tear something up so I just removed the linkage. We will see.

    C6 slipping second gear

It was a very hot, humid and muggy day with an ambient temperature of ~95 degrees. I did not leave it idling while I was in town and as a matter of fact it had cooled to around 140 degrees by the time I got back in it to leave. I'm not driving it because I certainly don't want to tear it up...

    C6 slipping second gear

Hello all, got a problem with my idi swapped bronco, out of nowhere second gear has started slipping and I don't mean a little bit I mean it's bad. In the year I've had the truck on the road the transmission has not given any indication of problems whatsoever but I drove it to town the other day...

    7.3 idi turbo engine swap.

There was a guy on Ford truck enthusiast went by the username farmnfly, he the same swap on a 6.4 truck and went into pretty good details of how he did it and what parts he used. It's a good write up if anyone cares to read it.

    Emergency 9/11 - Ran 6.9 on gasoline/diesel mix

Have you checked for a plugged return line? Mine on my '88 f350 plugged at the selector valve and just ran worse and worse until it finally died. I've never gotten bad fuel so I don't know what the symptoms would be but it sounds like your return is restricted which causes high housing pressure...

F-Super Duty parking brake assembly rebuild

I've got a '94 f super duty with the parking brake drum on the transmission, the parking brake does not keep the truck from rolling even on flat ground and it also seems to have a slight leak. I've had the drum off and the shoes looked good and the cable is adjusted as far as it can be but it...

    Odd humming/groaning from ac evaporator

Wow! I did not know that was the difference, in the electronic catalog it does not differentiate other than color. I bet in the old paper catalog it would have. I have a red orfice tube that came with the compressor for my f350 I may just try it and see what happens. Thanks very much for your help

    Odd humming/groaning from ac evaporator

That's kinda what I thought too and the only reason I bought the variable tube was because I had no idea which color orfice tube went in it originally. My choices were red, blue, and variable which is black. Orfice tubes are not particularly expensive I guess I can try the red and blue ones and...

    7.3 idi exhaust

My idi bronco is straight piped and is also obnoxiously loud inside, it's not bad at all under light acceleration and cruising but hard acceleration and under any load at all it is very loud. I was honestly planning to do a single in, dual out flowmaster with some old skool chrome megaphones...

    Odd humming/groaning from ac evaporator

I have completely redone my ac system on my idi swapped '88 bronco, new compressor, condenser, evaporator, dryer, variable orfice tube and all 3 hoses. The ac cools great and everything works like it should but it randomly makes this moaning noise coming from the evaporator that I can't seem to...

    '95 powerstroke swap

Normally I would agree with you 100% but it's free and all I have to do is pull the thing out. I also don't know for sure what I'll do with the powerstroke once I have it but for the low,low price of nothing I'm going to jump on it like a rat on a cheeto

    '95 powerstroke swap

I have been offered a good running and driving 95 7.3 powerstroke engine free of charge all I have to do is pull it out of the truck it's in. My question is what else should I take with it? I was planning on grabbing the injector driver module and engine harness for sure as well as the...

    Banks sidewinder turbo rebuild

I'm starting to think that isaac ristow is correct that the oil coming from the cdr allowing oil into the compressor housing and the seal between the compressor housing and center section is leaking a bit. When I had the big honking filter housing/ turbo inlet off while changing some bad glow...

    Banks sidewinder turbo rebuild

I think my early banks sidewinder turbo is in need of some attention as it is leaking oil and it appears to be coming from where the compressor housing attaches to the center section. I thought the drain tube was the source so I tightened the bolts and cleaned the area very well but a few days...

    cost of E4OD rebuild

The last e4od I had built cost me about $1100 bucks, it would have been about half that but it needed all the usual upgrades and I wanted a new solenoid pack. Of course this was done by a retired ford dealership trans builder who does them in a small shop beside his house and I had to pull it...

Spotted this funky van chassis conversion (Centurion?)

There was one of these at an estate sale here in Atlanta a while back, it was built by shotgun customs(or so said the logo) and was in very nice shape but was not running at the time. The guy wasn't asking much either and I wish I'd had the cash. It popped up on Craigslist about 6 months later...

Fuel in oil (?) and misfiring 7.3

I had an 84 f350/6.9 that had broken both rocker arms on one cylinder so neither valve was opening but since the injector was still spraying fuel it was just going past the rings and into the oil. 2 people couldn't figure it out and the truck was driven like this for quite some time before I...

excess noise and loss of power

16113657976742704308933825177523 by SuperDave posted Jan 22, 2021 at 8:37 PM This is the fitting I'm referring to from my spare injection pump, the check ball is still there but it is crystal clear so I can in fact see straight through it. I just can't blow through it unless I press the ball...

excess noise and loss of power

I would not put 120psi to it but if you have a way to turn the air pressure down a bit and remove or at least loosen the fuel cap it will not hurt anything. I have had to blow out the return line a few times never with any ill effects. It is entirely possible that someone broke the check ball...
  21. S

excess noise and loss of power

There should be a check ball in the fitting directly in top of the pump so you shouldn't be able to see thru it. The adapter that screws into that fitting is straight thru just fyi. If your return line is clogged somewhere between the tank and the engine it will make the engine do some strange...

6.9 IDI-what kind of battery charger do I get from

Associated brand still makes analog style commercial chargers but they are expensive ~$500+. However a quick eBay search from typing "heavy duty battery charger" revealed that there are several analog style chargers still available n.o.s for prices more reasonable than $500

excess noise and loss of power

I had an idi act similar to what you are describing once and beat my head against the wall for a long time trying to figure it out. The problem I finally found was the return fitting on the injection pump was clogged up and had to be cleaned. You have to remove it to clean it because there is a...
